edtFTPj is under the Lesser GNU Public License (LGPL),
and hence can be freely used in commercial or non-commercial products.
It should be noted, however, that under the LGPL
- edtFTPj must be used as a library (i.e. a jar), and not directly incorporated into your codebase, and
- if you make any modifications to edtFTPj and wish to distribute an application that uses these modifications, you
must make the modified library available under the LGPL.
There are other implications of the LGPL - read the license for more details. Because of your requirements (e.g.
modifications you wish to make) you may wish to purchase a
license unencumbered by the LGPL.

The non-GPL license has only one restriction - you are not permitted to create
derivative competing products for sale in their own right (i.e. another FTP client library).
You may freely embed the library in your code in whatever manner you wish, and sell or
distribute to whoever you wish.
The license is
perpetual - once purchased, you are licensed
to use the edtFTPj code and any future versions of the edtFTPj code that we release, with
no time limits.
All prices are listed in US dollars. Online transactions are
safely and securely handled through share-it.
Most major credit cards are accepted.
Companies can also send us a purchase order, or
anyone can pay using PayPal or by
bank transfer.
