All downloads are in tar.gz format (and zip from 1.3.1), and can be unpacked by 7-Zip or WinZip on Windows. More recent versions of Windows have zip functionality built in.

They should work for most versions of Java. edtFTPj 1.4.1 and later versions now support Java 1.1.x.
