CompleteFTP has an extremely flexible virtual file system, which means that folders can be mounted from almost anywhere on the physical file system (or network) and combined in various ways.

There are four different types of folders supported:

• Virtual folders don't exist on the actual file system - they permit a virtual folder structure to be created.
• Windows folders are standard Windows folders
• Windows special folders are folders such as My Documents.
• Network/Macro folders are UNC (network) folders, or folders with an expanded macro.
• Custom folder-types may be developed in the Enterprise Edition (see here).

CompleteFTP may have many root level folders mounted, and if virtual folders are used the CompleteFTP file system may not bear any resemblance to the underlying file system.
