Activating CompleteFTP

When a production license has been purchased, the trial installation must be activated with the production license using the following steps:

Activating CompleteFTP 3.3.0 and later versions

1. Run the CompleteFTP manager and connect to the CompleteFTP server instance that you wish to activate (the server instance - the CompleteFTP Windows service - may be running on another machine). You should run the manager on a machine with internet access (although there is a work around).
2. Select the "Licensing" menu item from the list on the left in the manager, and then select the "Activate your license" link.
3. Enter your purchase reference in the edit box indicated (Step 1), and then open the supplied URL. You will need the login details provided in your purchase email. If the credentials and purchase reference are correct, you will see a web page called "CompleteFTP Activation System"
4. Your activation key should be displayed in the text box, and it can be copied and pasted into the CompleteFTP manager in Step 4. Select "OK" and it should now be activated, and the license details should be displayed.

Activating CompleteFTP 3.2.2 and earlier versions

1. Run the CompleteFTP manager and connect to the CompleteFTP server instance that you wish to activate (the server instance - the CompleteFTP Windows service - may be running on another machine). You should run the manager on a machine with email access (although there is a work around).
2. Select the "Licensing" menu item from the list on the left in the manager, and then select the "Request Activation Key" link in the "Offline Activation" section.
3. Enter your purchase reference and select the "Send Request" button to email the license request to us. This sends us a one way cryptographic hash of your purchase reference and machine id - no private information can be extracted. You can also copy the request to the clipboard and email it to us.
4. When we receive your request, we will send you a production Activation Key. Use the "Enter Activation Key" link and paste the key into the text box. You should then be able to see your license details displayed.
